With a new Group People Director, it’s a propitious time to join the People team and contribute to the evolution of their HR and Talent strategy.

We’re looking for a People Director to partner with the MD’s for the Direct and Trading businesses – each fascinatingly different – thus creating a stimulating opportunity to play a significant role within the respective leadership cohorts - to design and embed a people strategy aligned to both individual and Group aspirations.   

Their Direct channel incorporates two distinct businesses – both leading the way in product innovation – collectively recognised as a centre of expertise with the value of scale, reach and range.  This colleague group of c.700FTE – (located in Bristol & London) also provide consultancy services to customers sharing rich insight to consumer trends, supported by a design team that create innovative product offerings and an award winning training team recognised as the industry’s elite.

At their impressive London offices, you will also find colleagues working across their Trading businesses - incorporating a marketing agency supporting suppliers with brand activation, and experiential promotional campaigns to reinvigorate or launch new brands – and an outdoor event operator with huge expertise in large-scale events now delivering premium solutions to over 40 events per year.

We’re looking for a senior professional who has developed a strong breadth of experience in a fast paced environment – offering a knowledge and expertise in a range of tools and solutions that will support both HR and organisational transformation and development.  The pace in this business can be relentless, demanding an ability to think on your feet, be nimble, make sound judgements and execute quickly  – agility - without doubt will be critical to your success.  Whilst certain sector experience will drive greater synergies (Retail and/or Consumer led) - this search is not sector specific, however a track record of effectively partnering a multi-site and/or mobile workforce is a pre-requisite. 

The successful candidate will be a business advocate, commercially astute with a natural orientation to immerse themselves into the businesses to make a valued and insightful contribution.  The potential to grow and develop both personally and professionally - is as important as experience.  This team are bright, energetic, and create a working environment that promotes a sense of fun whilst achieving results.  It’s a pretty unique and exhilarating place to be.
